Due to low growth rates in recent years, the Japanese church experienced over 1,000 individual church closures during the period from 2020 to 2023. To overcome this church growth barrier, Matthew 13:23 Ministries has initiated a laity-focused evangelism training program for the purpose of equipping the next generation of Japanese lay-missionaries and lay-evangelists.
